COVID-19: James Cook High School (Library)

It is a difficult time for all of us, but please note that we are still here to support student learning.
Please find links to various educational databases and information that students can access for free.
We also have two e-Book platforms: Overdrive and e-Platform that contains e-Books, audio books and videos that students can use.
We will endeavor to try and provide students with assistance with their research work; please send us a message via the contact form.

Our school library has over 12,000 resources which include fiction and non-fiction books, graphic novels, sophisticated picture books, reference materials, DVDs, CDs and magazines. Most of the items can be issued out to students; otherwise you can access them while you are in the library.
All students are welcome to come in before school, morning tea, lunchtime and after school to use the library. During class times, students can come with their class if their teacher has booked the area, or get written permission from their subject teacher to be in the library.

There are two library staff members:
  1. Mrs K Montrose Arnold – Library Manager
  2. Mrs D Rogers - Library Assistant
Plus, we have an awesome team of responsible student librarians.

Opening times:
The library is open Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 4.00pm.

Library rules:
  • No eating or drinking in the library
  • No chewing gum
  • Bags must be kept in the library cupboards in the foyer area. You may leave valuable items (i.e. money, phones, mp3 players, etc.) with the library staff for safe keeping until you leave the library.
  • Please keep the noise level down to a minimum so as not to disturb the other students who are using the library.
  • Respect the Library staff, respect other students and respect the library environment.
